Tristan Mueller-Vollmer is a Ph. D. candidate in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and holds a Master of Arts degree in Germanic Linguistics from the University of California Los Angeles. His dissertation examines the use of naming methods on Swedish runestones from the Viking Age. During the academic year 2019-2020, Tristan conducted research for and work on his dissertation at the University of Uppsala in Sweden thanks to a generous fellowship from the American Scandinavian Foundation. He has given several guest lectures on runes at UW–Madison and presented his research at the University of Uppsala. Tristan is also the co-author of The Vikings: Facts and Fictions.
