After nearly 35 years, American Runologist, Dr. Scott Shell, was able to help a woman achieve one of her life-long desires: to translate and contextualize a runestone that was found outside of Cranford, New Jersey. While she was working at the Watchung Reservation, she and her colleague went off to fetch some sandstone pieces for boy scouts, so they could make something. The woman turned one of the pieces of sandstone over and was instantly struck by what appeared to be “runes.”
